"What holiday is it?"

Summary[]

Dangle is getting married and Trudy goes into labor while trapped in a giant cake.

Cold Open[]

Middle School: Sniffy removes his head to reveal that he's Leslie, and he proposes to Jim Dangle. The deputies and the school kids are underwhelmed. A kid in the audience yells "faggot!" and throws a wad of paper at Dangle.

Plot[]

The officers gather outside the arena as the Lady Wolf Pack conference finals are held. They wait in riot gear, listening to a radio, ready for the onslaught of fans. The radio details how last time the team one, cars were set on fire and many officers were injured. "Shock and awe, people!" Dangle yells as they wait, poised for the riot. The team loses in the last 20 seconds. Everyone is relieved.

Terry: Williams and Johnson are informed that someone stole all of the mild salsa. Terry keeps spilling as he tries to serve food. It is revealed that the skates are not part of his job.

The men of the department are getting their tuxedos ready and Garcia does not like wearing a kilt. Garcia says Dangle is trying to "recruit" the others and calls it a "fag ceremony." He storms off. Junior asks what the bridesmaids are wearing and are told that he is one of the bridesmaids.

Renaissance Faire: A couple tries to report their stolen car without breaking character.

Trudy reveals that she thinks Jim is pretending that he's gay. Jones is happy for Dangle. Garcia is sad for Leslie and thinks "he can do better."

At the hotel, Dangle and cameraman Joe are ready in their tuxes. A knock at the door reveals a giant cake. Out pops a naked Trudy Wiegel with a boa doing an erotic dance to music on her boom box. She realizes it's not getting the reaction she hoped and is embarrassed. Jim vomits and says, "You look beautiful." They realize Trudy is stuck in the cake. As Jim tries to lift her out, she mentions she's lactating.

Frisbee: Williams and Johnson tell Frisbee that the End Times have arrived and the Jews have taken over. They have to put the Mark of the Beast on everyone. (Clemmie holds up a simple date stamp.) Frisbee fears his babies are going to be turned into "Jewbies" and are told that some people have fled to Mexico. They then tell the camera that the Mayor's son owns all the property that Frisbee's been squatting on and he wants it cleared out.

All the deputies arrive at the hotel and ask what Trudy was planning. She reveals she has edible panties and a ping-pong ball inserted for doing a trick, and everyone doesn't need to hear any more. They all still can't get her out. The fire department arrives and they got Jim a wedding gift even though they didn't get invited.

Trudy's water breaks.

The cake and Trudy won't fit in the ambulance, and they still can't get her out. The macho firemen state that it's only 20 blocks to the hospital and they can push it. Trudy goes into labor.

On the streets of Reno, with flashing and blaring emergency vehicles ahead and behind, men in kilts and tuxedoes and uniformed officers and firemen push a giant cake with a naked, swearing, pregnant lady in a boa. A Japanese tourist asks, "What holiday is it?"

Wiegel holds her newborn baby in her hospital room, and Dangle and Leslie decide to hold their ceremony there. The bagpipes and open flames on the candles are not allowed, and the tape player was left behind so they do their song a cappella. It's a little lame compared to what they had planned. Still, they persist. An officiate (Lisa Lampanelli) reads the ceremony. At the "speak now" part, Dangle clarifies that it doesn't mean anyone who doesn't like the idea of a gay commitment ceremony, but just as they start to move on, Garcia runs in.

Garcia admits that he has been wrestling with some complex emotions and has realized that he might find happiness in an area he hadn't considered before. Dangle is taken aback and says he loves Garcia only as a friend. Garcia says, "Shut up, Jim!" and kisses Leslie! They elope, leaving everyone shocked.

Trudy mentions to Dangle that she knows who the father of her baby is.

PSA[]

"Kids" Garcia and Wiegel think their toy gun looks pretty real. Williams warns the kids to never point guns, or anything, at cops. (The whole time, Wiegel points the toy gun at Williams.)

Behind the Scenes[]

Niecy Nash and Kerri Kenney provide commentary for the DVD. Observations include:

  • Niecy has some opinions on the Oscars and/or awards shows she doesn't want to share.
  • Kerri reveals that Frisbee's last name is McDaniels.
  • The specially-built cake had a seat inside for Kerri, but by the time they were ready to film she didn't fit.
  • The Japanese tourist is a pre-Heroes Masi Oka.

Notes[]

  • Who knocked at the door if Trudy was in the cake?
  • The kilts are all knee-length (already shorter than typical kilts) except for Dangle's, which is scantily short.
  • The fantastic parade gag is paid off in a line by a Japanese Tourist that is very quick and hard to hear.
